Overall I was quite pleased with how the night shots at Dusseldorf turned out although the scans of my slides seem to be a little more on the yellow side than I thought they would be so I had to knock out some of the yellow using Adobe Photoshop.
When looking at the slides they seem fine but for some reason the scans look a little more yellow, it's probably because you look at slides with a bright light behind them so don't notice as much of a yellow tint.
The Stands nearest the door when you come out onto the Main Terrace have lighting that appears to me more on the yellow side whereas lights at the top end of the Terrace are whiter looking, you can see a slightly yellow effect in these four photos below but I think they still look good and was pleased with them.
This spot also gives the chance to shoot all of the Stands on this pier when they are full so getting four aircraft in the frame looks quite good under the lighting here.
The four shots below were taken from the near end of the Terrace so when you come out onto the deck just walking to the right gives the best view of the pier opposite and the additional lighting from the pier behind helped to brighten up the shots and ones taken in this direction required the least amount of exposure with them being 4 seconds at F5.6, the Royal Air Maroc 737 had been pushed back from the first Stand below on the right hand side to where you see it for the tug to be detached.
As it was windy each night I kept the aperture to F5.6 for nearly all of the shots so as to reduce the amount of seconds needed and this way it helped to cut down on camera shake.

From the left hand side of the Terrace as you come out on to it I found the first two Stands had particularly yellow lighting and that was a bit of a problem as you can see from this Condor A320 below and this was it after I reduced some of the yellow out of it using Photoshop.
In the middle of the deck on the left hand side you had to watch out for back lighting coming from the high pier lights and I lost a few due to this, you can see from this Iberia MD80 a slight effect of the lighting coming from behind it.

On the right hand side of the deck in the middle it wasn't too good at all for shots after pushbacks as the aircraft were either too tail on with obstructions in the way or they would push them well out and turn them around but there wasn't sufficent lighting on this spot.
At the top of the viewing deck the lights seemed whiter looking and both Stands at the very end gave good views after pushbacks, it is a little darker here so it required either 8 or 10 seconds at F5.6 (two examples below).
The shot of the British Airways 146 and Aero Lloyd A320 was taken at the top of the deck looking to the left hand side and this was a full 300mm shot of 10 seconds.

On the first day I just waited until darkness came before going out onto the Terrace but on the second I noticed that just after the night time lights were switched on and before darkness came the conditions were good for photos then too as you can see below.

During our three nights on the Terrace we didn't see anyone else taking night shots and this surprised me with the good oppertunities that you have so it does not seem that there is much interest in night time photography from those visiting the Terrace but I would certainly consider going again for this in the future.
It occurs to me that a good time to visit for night photos would be about the end of September when there would still be plenty of charters flying so better movements and at this time of the year the Terrace is open until 9pm so there would be chances to shoot some of the better ones in darkness such as the various Turkish airlines that operate into DUS.
