Viewing Park (Manchester 28-5-03).

This is the viewing park at Manchester and you can see the two mounds in the distance that you can stand on, the one on the left is no use for photos being too low and far from the fence.

The other one nearer the fence is fine for anything on the runway but limited for taxiers passing close by, an extra 3 feet on it would have been ideal to avoid the fence.

You could put a set of ladders on the closer mound for extra height but it would be a struggle with it usually full of people including kids, this shot was taken in the evening when it was much quieter.

On Footballs European Cup FInal day I took a lot of shots through the perimeter fence although it is thick wire and fairly tight but many shots can be taken square on so you don't get much if any fence in the photos, this is ideal for a Digital camera as it's easy enough to remove any dark corners due to the wire but could be frustrating for prints and slides since you would be stuck with it.

This spot that I was standing on when I took the photo is a good one and you can see that it is on raised ground helping with clearing the fence and I took all of my photos from here when standing on my small steps, you don't get the top of the fence in the photos unless it is something larger and in that case it's a quick visit to the fence to shoot through it.

The views here are very good but due to the sun angle I wouldn't come here until about 4pm in summer when the sun is going behind and much better for shooting, during morning it is pretty hopeless with sun right in front so visiting the other side is much the better option.
