Amiri Flight 747SP (Clips 1 & 2)

This was a great day out in perfect Winter weather conditions of clear skies throughout the day and two excellent movements to see.

These 747SP's are rare sights these days and as this one was in the Circuit for 2 hours doing 12 touch and go's I had ample time for photos and Video action.

Antonov Design Bureau AN22

The only Commercially flying Antonov 22 is always a must see event as who knows how much longer it will remain flying and also it does not make many appearances here at Prestwick so with clear skies all day there was a good number of Photographers on the "Mound" to see it arriving on Runway 31.

Evergreen 747-200

During mid Summer to early Autumn Evergreen were flying occasional 747 flights from Ramstein in Germany back to the USA and on most of them they used their "Supertanker" which has a different configuration to the other 747-200's in the Fleet.

Antonov Design Bureau AN124

For many months now there have been Antonov 124 Freighters coming through Prestwick on Tech Fuel stops and for Crew rest, these flights are often flying from Trenton Canada to Turkmenistan like this one was.

As it was cloudy I went over to the North side to receord this 124 landing on Runway 31 and taxiing to Stand for parking, this is a nice spot for action but requires some cloud cover as the Sun would have been in front from here.

Antonov Design Bureau AN124

I decided to catch the AN124 leaving from this spot after it's Fuel stop and set up with plenty of time for it taxiing out and departing from Runway 31, it was a difficult task as there were 1,000's of flying Ants over me and my Camcorder but it turned out not too bad in the end.

US Air Force Hercules

During this period of the year there were regular visits by US Air Force Hercules Transporters stopping here for Fuel or more often than not staying until the following day for Crew rest.

This one was taxiing out to Runway 31 for departure and came close by me while I was on the "Mound" so the Clip has the very loud and distinctive sound of the Herc.

Nomads Boeing 727

The Nomads 727 visited Glasgow for a week and was due to depart at 12pm on the 17th of August so I made sure I was early enough to catch it on my HD Camcorder, after a 45 minute delay due to Flight Plan problems it taxied out and departed from Runway 05.

Glasgow is difficult to obtain good footage due to a lack of good spots without the Perimeter fence in the way but I managed to find a spot just high enough for some action of it leaving with the aid of balancing my Camcorder on a Monopod for added stability.
