Polet Antonov 124

The occasional Polet 124 turns up at Prestwick now and then for Crew rest mainly when flying for the US Military from Charleston, this one was obviously very heavy as it's wheels were still on the ground when it passed me square on.

Cargolux 747F

Of the Airlines that fly Freight Flights through Prestwick Cargolux has the most and the one on Mondays and Thursdays have good times so I tend to go on these days if there is anything else worth while seeing.

This 747 was too up more Runway on departure than I expected rotating just before it reached the "Mound".

Air France Cargo 777-200F

Finally on my fourth attempt in 2 weeks I managed to catch the Air France 777F in sunshine arriving in from Chicago and this time using Runway 13 rather than 31.

Air France Cargo 777-200F

It's third successive visit to Prestwick in very dull weather as it leaves for Paris after offloading some Freight.

Air France Cargo 777F

The first visit to the UK of an Air France Cargo 777 Freighter and it was here for just over two hours, we watched it offload many Crates of Freight before it finally closed up and taxied out for departure.

After Pushing back from Stand it made a smokey engine start and as it taxied to the Holding Point for Runway 31 I decided to disable my Camcorders Auto Focus as the lights on it were effecting my focussing.

The final part of the Clip is it's very early rotation and steep climb from Runway 31 with next stop being it's home base of Paris.

Atlas Air 747F

Atlas now only use their 747-400's into Prestwick having retired their much older Classic 747-200's and two of these Flights come through here each week at a good time to see them.

This one was taxiing out to Runway 31 on a cold day and completed a 30 second run up before departing.

Cargolux 747F

A regular Scheduled Cargolux taxiis out and departs from Runway 31 after the Snow from earlier had melted so it produced plenty of water spray.

USAF C17 Globesmaster

There has been a pickup of C17 visits here in recent weeks which is good to see and this was one of two that arrived during the previous afternoon with one leaving and this one staying overnight.

I was pleased to see it leave in sunshine and I managed some very close action as it taxied by the "Mound" viewing spot.

Atlas Air 747-400F

This is a regular Saturday morning Scheduled Freight Flight and as I was here for the Sun Country 737 I waited a little longer for the Atlas to leave from Runway 13, good to get some closeup action of this Freighter from one of my favourite spots at Prestwick.

Sun Country 737-700

My second Clip of the Sun Country 737 as it Taxiis away from Stand 5 for departure from Runway 13 and as it was cloudy all day I was able to go to the North side which would have been sun in front and not good if the weather had been better.

Sometimes a cloudy day can work to your advantage and this spot is one of my favourites for using my Camcorder with the really good views available.

Sun Country 737-700

This was a delivery flight with the aircraft heading for Minneapolis to be handed over to it's new Owner Sun Country, the aircraft is ex Easyjet and was painted at Lasham into this excellent colour scheme.

It was a nice one to see come through Prestwick on it's one hour Fuel stop so I concentrated on HD Camcorder action although when it was parked at the Terminal I managed some good side on shots just after the Fuel Bowser moved off it.

Boeing Dreamlifter

After a long absence of over 6 months the Boeing's Dreamlifter is flying regularly again from Grottaglie in Italy to Charleston USA where the Boeing Dreamliner is being manufactured and on most trips back to the USA it is visiting Prestwick for Fuel.

unfortunately although it was sunny for long spells this one arrived during a cloudy period to land on Runway 31 but hopefully I will have the chance to see it again in the next few weeks for more footage before the warmer weather comes and heat haze becomes a problem.

Air France Cargo 747F

I wanted to catch an Air France 747-400F in sunny conditions as rumours are they plan to introduce their very new Boeing 777 Freighter on the Prestwick route so this one seen here worked out very nicely.

I choose the higher up view from top end of the "Mound" as it taxied along for a Runway 31 departure, this day there were few folk out taking photos so they big grass Bank you see in front of it was not as well populated as it often is here with the excellent view it offers for Photographers

Polet Antonov 124

This AN124 had arrived during the previous day and stopped over for the night, it had parked on the North side as usual where 124's usually sit so I got a lot of footage of it taxiing from there and backtracking down the Runway.

After lining up this one did the standard 4 minute Engine warm up before rolling down Runway 31 so nice to see a Polet for a change as they are not as common here as Antonov Design Bureau or Volga Dnepr ones.

USAF C17 Globemaster

This C17 was also a night stop from the previous day and was departing Prestwick in early afternoon just when light rain was starting to fall, if it had been any heavier I would have switched off as I do not normally take my Camcorder out unless conditions are dry.
