G-VAST 747-400 Virgin Atlantic (Prestwick 6-7-04).

The Virgin 747 was here to blast a couple of cars with it's engines running at full power for a feature on the Top Gear TV program and arrived at 10-40am while a USAF KC135 Tanker was waiting at the holding point for departure.

Normally I wouldn't bother coming to Prestwick until midday because in mid summer the sun's angle is not good for landing shots on Runway 31 in the mornings which is the one mainly used but this was a special one so worth coming for.

Not the best for light conditions with the sun off high to my right so it had the effect of making my shots of it top lit from behind due to the time of day.
