RA-82080 AN124 Polet (Prestwick 20-9-04).
The angle of the AN124 tells it all about what the wind was like, not very nice with gusts of 40 knots but at least the latest heavy shower had just passed through the field before I took numerous shots of it climbing away.
It taxied out to the holding point for Runway 31 right in the middle of a very heavy shower and I was sheltering in some gorse bushes to avoid another soaking but I could just see through the rain from where I was it had lined up for takeoff.
Fortunately like most AN124 departures it sat there for 5 minutes warming up which allowed the big shower to clear the field and as a result it produced a lot of spray.
